Festa 1993 was supposed to be easy. It was our third year at Pier 35, basically the same layout as the year before...just fine tuning, right?

Just one little problem...Cruise Ships!

Since Pier 35 is San Francisco's Cruise Ship Terminal, it was necessary to work around the ship schedule during the 4 week installation of Festa 1993.

The main floor had to be kept clear to accommodate the busses, trucks, gangways and other equipment necessary to service each cruise ship.

And, since the show opened at noon on Friday, and the last ship departed at 8am on Thursday, there was only 28 hours to install everything on the floor.

Most of the electrical and lighting equipment was installed in the weeks before, and then the cables were pulled up out of the way.

Two of the biggest projects were:

The Mercado

Bocce Courts

Trucks in main theater

Oh yeah, and our neighbor needed to drive through the main theater...
